Brace for Impact: Market Volatility Ahead!

THE WEEK

Last week the Market showed neutral sideways movements with lower than normal trading  volume.  Wednesday being the exception when the Market gapped up at opening and was a strong up all day.  Volume was still below normal trading levels so I didn’t get too excited.

LOOKING AHEAD

Next week the Market could show some volatility greater than normal especially on Wednesday.  This volatility is because of the unknown reactions  surrounding  around major economic announcement news.  Wednesday the CPI (Consumer Price Index) for May is released at 8:30am Eastern.  At 2:00pm Eastern the FOMC releases it latest Interest Rate decision with a Press conference following at 2:30pm Eastern.  Wednesday is going to be interesting.  I am not expecting the FOMC to raise or lower interest rates at this time.  We are not at the levels they want to see for inflation (2%) but I think it would be prudent to hold the line right now.  Thursday at 8:30am the PPI (Producers Price index) will be release.  Expect some drama no matter what the figures are.

HOW AM I DOING?

Another week with modest gains.  I am not extremely pleased with my current performance but have vowed to get back in the trenches and aim for doubling my account balance over the next three and one-half months.  Then I will be happier with my trading.

In our Quantum Trading Group, we are still exploring two new trading strategies developed by a couple of Quantum subscribers – Larry and Wesley.  Everyone has the rules and understand the set-up, the ideal entrance, exits and adjustments.  The next step is to explore how to find the right tickers to trade.  We will also be exploring a new trade management idea presented by another subscriber – Matt.
