Take Advantage of Earnings Announcements Using Diagonal Credit Spreads

THE WEEK

We are experiencing an acceleration up in general with Tech stocks being the strongest up and small cap companies the weakest.  Three weeks ago, I stated that I expected this up Price/Action but then banks started going through a rough period with some bank failures both in the USA and globally. The Market was chaotic.

LOOKING AHEAD

Buyers are coming back into the Market not in droves but rather in a steady trickle.  What does this mean for my trading?  The heavy earning season will begin in about three weeks.  In the meantime, I believe we will see a steady push up.  I intend to trade mini calendar diagonal credit spreads to take advantage of the short period uptrend.  Traders are numb to the bad news and chaos.  They want the Market to go up and are acting accordingly.  It is important to understand the psychology of the trading herd and match it stride for stride with your personal trading.

HOW AM I DOING?

Actually, pretty good.  After the last session of this quarter’s DATA class, I had taken the trading account I trade publicly back down to $25,000.  My focus was not on trading.  I am opening a new retail and processing business.  www.liveH2GO.com.  The major construction was finished and I was focused on getting the punch list items resolved,  final permitting and the operation and store set up so we could open this week.

I had very few trades in placed but they did well because of the Price/Action of the Market.  I wish I could say it is because I am a brilliant trader but that is not the case.  I ended the week with an account balance of $28,156.66.  That’s 12.6% gain.  Thank you, Market Gods.
