Pay Attention To Stock Market Reports! They affect your trading.

 We're going to talk about the consumer price index report today. It's something that you need to be aware of as a trader because these types of reports affect what the trading herd does. The trading herd is essentially the mob. They are the ones who react to the market and their reactions are how we make money. So take a look at how I traded last week and plan to trade this week based on the reports coming out!

Stock Market Analysis For The Week

It was a short Market week as Labor Day was on Monday.  Tuesday was a down day.  BUT, we saw a support forming and then on Wednesday the Market popped up off that support.  The trading volume was on the high average side.   Overall money in the Market is stable neither coming in nor going out.

Looking Ahead

On Tuesday, September 13^th an hour before the Market opens is the Consumer Price Index Report (CPI) for August.  I will not trade until the afternoon waiting to see the fallout and herd reaction.  We all know inflation is bad.  I watch prices at the gas pump and when I go grocery shopping and personally saw prices stop going up so hard and kind of level out.  The thing is you never know how the herd will react to the various economic reports issued each month.  It is better to wait and when the herd reactions have played out, then trade.

I see next week as a calm up Market.  I emphasis to always trade what you see not what you think.  I will take my own advice.

How did I do this week?

My portfolio balance is a little down from the week before.  I don’t have many trades on right now as I am traveling all next week and don’t want to babysit trades in this uncertain Market while I am catching air flights and sitting in lectures.  The trades I did have on sort of broke even.  Sometimes that is just how things play out.
