You Must Always Keep Learning As A Trader

It is important as we continue on our journey as traders that we always stay committed to learning. If we can do that, we are on the path to success 

The Week

I feel like I am in a holding pattern. Don’t see much to trade yet. Next week company earnings announcements will start at full blast. In the meantime, the Markets are definitely going a little up and a little down with an overall slightly down spin. The highs on each cycle are just a little lower each time.

In our webinars we are now discussing the possibility of a multiple year struggle for the economy and its effects on the Market. Fear is ruling the Markets and our lives right now. A lot of people have pulled their monies out of the Market looking for safer investments. Many are using their savings to survive the hits caused by increasing inflation.

During the webinars we are discussing what sectors and industries will do well in these trying times. We want to focus our trades in these areas. As always Investing Buddies will prosper in a down Market which is easier and makes money faster than in an up market.

How did I do?

As I said, I am mostly in a holding pattern. I did have a couple of nice gains doing Princess trades on earnings.

HUGE LESSON I seem to be learning once again. After a stock split usually a company’s stock price will go up as the stock is less expensive and more investors start buying it. Shopify had a 10 for 1 split a couple of weeks ago bringing the cost down to the $30 per share area. I bought CALLs a couple of months in the future thinking the price would go up.

One look at SHOP’s chart and you can see it is following the Market in a sideways slightly down pattern. Once again, the lesson is smacking my face. TRADE WITH THE MARKET TREND.
